Prerequisites
Operating system
eTraxis does not depend on operating system. You can use any OS you would like.
Database server
At the moment eTraxis supports following types of database server:
- MySQL
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Oracle
- PostgreSQL
MySQL
You can use MySQL 5.0 or later. Using of MySQL 4.1 or less is impossible due to lack of implementation of some SQL language elements.
Microsoft SQL Server
You can use Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or later. Probably eTraxis will function with previous versions of Microsoft SQL Server, but it wasn't tested.
Oracle
You can use Oracle 9i or later.
Please note that database character set must be AL32UTF8. Oracle documentation states that using 'nchar' (national char) datatype works with UTF-8 values fine, even if database character set is single-byte encoding. But actually it doesn't work (or I just don't know how to make it) and UTF-8 national values are corrupted (this information is applicable to Oracle 9i, and I don't know whether it works with later versions of Oracle).
PostgreSQL
You can use PostgreSQL 8.0 or later.
Web server
It can be any web server that allows to use PHP. Most popular solution is Apache HTTP Server.
eTraxis requires PHP5, 5.1.0 at least.
Internet browser
eTraxis doesn't depend on any particular browser and can be used with any of modern ones. The only browser-relateed requirement is enabled JavaScript (which is enabled by default in most cases).
